Another Returning Player.
Hello GWguru community;
I am a returning player from sometime ago (I just opened my 2nd-4th birthday presents on 5 lvl 20's), and was a hardcore farmer back in 'the day'. With the release of Guildwars 2 still being some time away, I decided to install the games again. At the moment I only have Up until factions, Nightfall having come out around the time I quit. I was wondering what guildwars today is like because currently I am at a huge loss. Also, I'd really like to get back into farming and making money; because that is my favorite way to kill time. I was always the person who gave away his extra stuff and spent the day in staging areas. When I played Barrage-pet groups in... Tombs? Were still popular, as well as trapper groups in UW. But seeing as it has been years, and many expansions/classes since then have been released since then; it's not hard to imagine how both gear/skills/build arrangements have progressed. Would Anyone perhaps giving me a quick rundown, or some sources where I might have a relatively easy time getting caught up on that kind of thing? What are the main farming places today? I noticed that UW/ToA is still farmed, but I'm not recognizing any of the builds. I used to get most of my kicks out of trappers/barrage-pet/Summoning/and tanking. My characters being Assassin/Ranger/Necro/Warrior(droknars runs were popular) main. Thank you for taking the time to read my post, I hope to make my place in the community once again; and maybe even get to know some of you in game and carry on to GW2. -Deltez |

if you are a hardcore farmer or at least money maker then u deffienently need eye of the north. learn the dungeon runs and make 100k an hour not including drops (shards of orr dungeon bring 5 players -1 for perma so 4 at
12kea and bring in 48k every 30-40 mins with a chance of a bds which is 70e at complete minimum). if you are very good you can learn slavers. (bring 7 people and if done right charge 75k per person at an hours work). |

Speed Clears. Game Is Dead. Not Worth it. But welcome back and I hope you enjoy the game again. |

Well many things have changed, but I can help you with some farming in FoW and UW. The current team builds for farming UW and FoW are on pvxwiki.com
To farm the Underworld, you will need an assassin, which is called a "perma sin" The main idea of a perma sin is keeping the skill "Shadow Form" up all the time, making you virtually invincible, with some exceptions. this farm with 7 permas and a necro(which is not suggested for beginners) is called " UWSC, " which stands for Underworld Speed Clear. The objective is to complete all 10 quests in the Underworld and open the Chest at the end, with a chance at extremely rare weapons. Along with the chest as the main goal, Globs of Ectoplasm are dropped from most monsters in UW, as you may already know. To farm the Fissure of Woe, you can either use a perma, necro, monk, ranger/ritualist, or a warrior. This build is also on pvxwiki.com and is called FoWSC "Manly Spike."(Fissure of Woe Speed Clear) This team build uses 2 lone permas who do their own job and a main team which is the monk, 1 perma, necro, 2 warriors, and a ritualist/ranger. You can find some video tutorials on youtube.com for help. I suggest you start farming UWSC as a "wastes" perma, which is probably the easiest, and a 100b warrior for FoWSC, which is also easy. Although I am horrible at explaining things, I hope this helped =D Here are the links to the farms - UWSC: http://pvx.wikia.com/wiki/Build:Team...ld_Speed_Clear FoWSC: http://pvx.wikia.com/wiki/Build:Team_-_FoW_Manly_Spike Pm me in game as Ketchup Prince if you have any questions. |

Thank you everyone, and...
Thank you all for your quick replies.
Perhaps I could get a look at what gear for those kind of things would look like stat-wise? I remember you used to put put a pattern or something on armor to add a bonus. But now you can add runes and insignias? Also, I just found out that all of the old-school green items (when greens just came out I farmed them/have many left over) aren't worth... anything; haha. I was hoping to sell my old items and buy decent gear to start my new farming character. So I really appreciate how helpful the community is, and am happy that it's still strong and full of friendly members. -Deltez Amiel Edit: Alright, somewhat embarrassing; but actually the 'patterns' I was talking about were actually 'runes'. I'd just forgotten that is what they were called, and the term 'patterns' was probably just a mistake related to the necromancers 'scar patterns'. And I did some research, and found out what insignias were. These I did 'not' know of, since they were introduced in Nightfall. Also, I looked at the links in the previous posts and can probably get all of the 'wastes assassin' skills unless shadow form can't be captured in factions... Which I'd have to wait until I purchase the other games to get. Last edited by Deltez Amiel; Aug 28, 2009 at 03:33 AM // 03:33.. Reason: False information. |

Well you can customize each piece of armor with one rune and one insignia each. The runes/insignias needed for the build you are using should be on the page provided by pvx (under equipment). Which in this case are five Radiant Insignias and a Rune of Superior Shadow Arts (the other +1 is from the head piece). For the other four runes I cant really help you out cause I dont do much speed clears. But I would highly recommend a Superior Vigor Rune (or highest you can afford). All these runes/insignias can be bought at a Rune Trader. And remember, the effects from runes dont stack (unless it is a Rune of Vitae), but the effects on insignias do stack.
Its also recommended that you customize a seperate set of max armor so youll have a set for your pve purposes and a set for farming, itll keep you from having to buy runes everytime you go for a run. And Shadow Form is in the Factions campaign. If you go back to the UWSC link and click on the icon for the skill, it will take you to the wiki page for that skill. Here it will tell you how/where to acquire it. If its an elite skill just click on one of the monsters' names who have it and a map should be on that page to where they are located. You can find just about anything on the guild wars wiki, just type into the search and it should come up. Hope that helps and good luck Last edited by Relent Less; Aug 28, 2009 at 04:44 AM // 04:44..
